Vintner’s Daughter doesn’t offer a full array of skin care products — and that’s just the point. April Gargiulo founded her company in 2014 with one product, the Active Botanical Serum, aiming to disrupt the industry by eliminating the need for five to six products to achieve a great complexion. Growing up in her family’s wine business in Napa Valley, she learned the virtue of patience from an early age, which explains why Vintner’s Daughter adheres to a slow production method, requiring three weeks to create each bottle. The formulation took time to figure out as well. Gargiulo herself had been on Retin-A and Accutane and tried various lasers to get rid of her cystic acne before creating the whole-botanicals serum that delivers radiance, clarity and brightness. Five years later, she’s launched the Active Treatment Essence, made from 13 botanicals, along with vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, probiotics, plant stem cells, marine microalgae, and acids and enzymes that micro-exfoliate, brighten and firm.
