Salt & Stone is a unisex, Los Angeles-based skin and body care company focused on natural, organic and cruelty-free ingredients. The brand was founded in 2017 by Nima Jalali, a former professional snowboarder who traveled the world, experiencing a broad range of outdoor environments and conditions. This exposure to the elements led Jalali to understand the effects they had on his skin, and instilled in him the importance of protection. As he struggled with a series of injuries, Jalali discovered that a natural approach to his diet and lifestyle optimized his recovery, and his personal demand for products like chemical-free sunscreens and aluminium-free deodorants became a catalyst for the inception of his brand. Salt & Stone ingredients are grown and produced in ethical and sustainable ways, without the use of pesticides, artificial fragrances, sulfates, petrochemicals, parabens, phthalates or GMOs, and the products are never tested on animals. Renewable solar and hydroelectric energy is used in the manufacturing processes, and all packaging is made from post-consumer recycled materials.
