People who think hats aren’t for them haven’t been introduced to Lovely Bird yet. Founded in 2012 by Jaime Haskell, a longtime veteran of the fashion industry, the concept originated from Haskell’s own needs as a new mom who yearned for an easy-to-wear accessory she could throw on with jeans and a T-shirt. However, the brand isn’t just for hat novices. Connoisseurs are quick to recognize the fine materials and attention to detail, as each chapeau is crafted by hand in the U.S. using cruelty-free felts and sustainable production methods. All of the finishing accents — feathers, leather bands with beads or pom-poms — are applied by the milliner herself. Styles range from the everyday San Sebastian straw fedora to the more prominent Dallas fedora, made of felt and accented with ribbon, a turquoise bead and a feather.
