With everything from sleek swimwear to oversized sweatshirts and silk animal-print halter dresses, this cult-favorite brand can’t be pigeon-holed into just one aesthetic. Consider the common threads woven throughout each Baja East collection: quality materials (sweatshirts and harem pants crafted from plush, worn-in fleece), high-integrity cuts (whether oversized or streamlined, each piece is always meant to flatter and define) and fully transitional silhouettes (many of the looks are intentionally ambisexual and intended to look as great in the city streets as they are on the surf and sand). Creative director Scot Studenberg — formerly the sales director at Lanvin — continues to pump his “loose-luxe” vision into the brand, carrying a mix of everything from weekend-relaxed to gala-ready styles.
